Windows Vista/7 64-bit Xenochemistry Yields Non-functional Nonstacking Potions

I just tried out the potion randomizing ability from the "Xenochemistry" ability in the Paranormal Investigator skillset. I cast the spell on a bottle of Acidum Salis and it turned into an Infernal Potion, or at least it seemed to; on further investigation the new Infernal Potion would not stack with my other Infernal Potions, and I was also unable to drink it. I've tried everything to try to get them to stack: dropping it and picking it back up, dropping the new potion on top of a stack of old ones on the ground, trying to manually combine them in my inventory, quitting and reloading the save; Nothing works.

I have included the save file. The last two items in my inventory are a stack of real Infernal Potions and the new dummy Infernal Potion.

EDIT: On further investigation, I was able to combine the stacks after exiting entirely out of the game and restarting the program. There's still a bug there somewhere though, because I shouldn't have had to do that.

EDIT: I've since also had the non-stacking problem with a voltaic potion (although this one I was able to use without restarting the program)

It's likely a metadata problem. The funny thing is, that's what should be happening with quest items instead.

  3. The potions go back to stacking when you reopen your save file; it's a shitty fix, but it works for now.
EDIT: To clarify, this happens with all Xenochemistry potions, unfortunately, but they work fine if you quit to the title screen and then go back to your save.

Which only makes it more likely that it really is a metadata problem.
