Sorry to hear that. Can you look inside your game folder for any .dmp files? It might help us figure out what happened.

I don't know why the folders are there, but they were in previous patches too. If you don't have all the expansions, make sure to delete empty...

It shouldn't be happening, that's for sure. But if it's really random it's hard to pinpoint. When it crashes, see if you can find any .dmp files...
