I actually had it happen to me earlier today, but I DID receive an item, the game just failed to acknowledge it with the zoo splash sceen.

It's not "really" a bug, but it can't move once it's on the ground. Simply a side effect of things being movable with knockbacks.

Correct, through closed doors. It was a viable strategy before to kick traps like k0rd mentioned, with unarmed :p
It's a known bug with the ways crafting kits interact, I don't know if it's high on the priority list though.
