Well, it would be a safe guess. Mind you though, there are some games which have such problems normally so it is possible to mess the code up so badly that it becomes the developers' fault. Just remember not to do that (not to make your code atrocious, that is) and you should be fine.

  3. This weeks blog post was really great I think because it's really introduced the cool concept of setting work hours. Not only that but I'm happy that the citizens wants are being implemented now because I can't wait to see what colonists do with their spare time. One thing I'm excited for is being able to follow a colonist through a day in the life and watch what he/she does throughout the day.

Come to think of it, that reminds me of a relatively old game called "Wiggles" ("Diggles" outside of Germany), where you could set working hours for your dwarves. But I am digressing; right now I'm waiting to see how will that work in CE.

Wiggles was a great game, quite inovative, but I think it wasn´t successfull buisneswise.

You realize, of course, that the only true way to run a colony is when everybody is worked til they are little more than husks. Stifle the complaints, censor the media, and get every ounce out of everybody until the new batch comes in, innocent and completely unaware of what's really been going on in Minesville.

    ...right?

No, the right way is to give them free time 24 hours a day and raise them to WANT to do the work in their freetime from their own free will, like good citizens of the empire should. Only poets need to be forced to work.

Since others are asking system specs I will ask about mine.

Chip. Intel Core 2 Duo E6850
    Win 7 32Bit.
4 gigs of ram ( Really 2.5 gigs because a gig of ram address is being used up by ram in my 32bit system).
    Nvidia Geforce 210 (1gig).

  9. I don't think spec's are nailed down as of yet

Not sure what generation a GeForce 210 is. Not sure if I've ever *heard* of a GeForce 210.

    CPU is a bit slow.

200/300 series was before the 400/500 series, which is what we have in the office I believe. That said, _10 is a pretty low end model on any gen I think.

Sad face.:( Thanks for the reply. processor is a bit old. I bought the 210 video card recently as a very cheap ($20) replacement after my (still old) 8600 GS died.

I have to say that the animations in the recent blog post were absolutely amazing. I could practically hear that poor man's teeth chattering.

After seeing mention of phrenologists, I'd be amused to see a rogue one. I know, retrophrenology is a Pratchettism, but the idea that the citizen you rely on to inform you of the personality traits of the populace by examining the lumps on their heads is in fact quietly "socially engineering" them (*whack*) to have cult-endorsing tendencies... or turning them all gradually into poets...
