"Sure thing, little one," the demon says to Torma as he waits for the others to come in the room. He looks at Hort and says,"Yes, customers. There is a lot to buy at the bosses shops, but I better let him tell you all about it. He tends to kill us if we steal his thunder." He chuckles at Rantic's question. "Nope, not one of them. Just a regular old Sammlung demon. Those Archon guys are jerks. My evilness, you are all full of questions! I am named 148,937,589, and no, I'm not hot, just red." Once everyone is in the room, he takes you into the west room, with himself in the lead. At first it seems like a rather ordinary room, with lines of shelves on the wall, but almost immediately there is a puff of smoke and suddenly you are face to face with another demon. This one has slightly pale skin, but is wearing a suit that combines the worst features of a checkerboard and a zoot suit. "Welcome, friends!" He says with a voice that sounds like a circus ring master and a used car salesman. "I am Brax, and this is my shop! I sell everything here, or at least everything that can be found here in the dungeon. Anything you need, I have it here or can get it, if you have the money. I also buy anything you don't need, and offer other services as well, like protected resting areas, shop to shop teleportation, and general advice. I must warn you, however, that I don't tolerate shoplifting." The room seems to get darker and colder as he continues, "You have met one of my demons already, and let me assure you that I have many more that wont hesitate to smash you into a fine paste for my morning toast." The room brightens again. "But that wont be needed, will it? I have a good feeling about you guys! You guys will destroy The Idiot, and then all will be great! So please, ask me any questions you have, and you may look at all my wares." He steps up to a small counter set into the wall, and waits for a response.
Hort looks into her bag for a minute to see how much gold she had left over. Hort decides it would be better to save up. After rummaging around her bag for a while, she looks up to Brax and asks "How much for a 'protected resting area' as you called it?"
Torma smiles at Hort "Not to worry woman, we'll protect you." before starting to go through the demon merchant's stock. He hasn't been in a shop in at least a year, and it's so unexpected he temporary forgets his problems and finally looks relaxed. [Torma takes a look at the catalogue]
Berz: "Hm. Well, I need to see how it works. Hit 148,937,589 real quick." Hort: "10 gold a night." Torma: There are lots of items, swords and other weapons, various types of armor, and a selection of magic stuff like potions and wands. There is also basics like rations and supplies. Give me an area you want to focus on, or an item you want to look for and I will give more details.
His boots are barely holding together after too much travelling, he'll look if there's some more comfortable ones. Any fancy throwing weapons otherwise ?
"Hmmmm." Rantic inspects the wares, focussing on rations and drinks. Then succombing to his more natural field of study he looks for enything necromancy.
Torma: “Sure, I have boots! They don’t even smell bad. Give me a copper for a good pair. I also have a fine assortment of throwing weapons as well as some alchemical items. We have: Acid Alchemist's Fire Bolas Daggers Darts Javelins Nets Oil Sai Shortspears Shuriken Tanglefoot Bag Throwing Axe Thunderstone Trident Let me know what you are interested in, and I will tell you the cost.” Rantic: There is not much variety in foodstuffs. Mostly trail rations, but he does have a selection of cheeses and booze. There are a few necromantic items. Harm wand A few variations of Inflict Wounds wands Staff of Necromancy Hort: “Why, yes it does, young… lady?”
"Great then! My friends and I will stay the night. Were is this resting area? And does it have beds?" Hort looks around the room.
Meanwhile Torma takes a closer look at the Alchemist's Fire, the Tanglefoot Bag and the Thunderstone. " Can you tell me more about these ? "
Hort: He smiles at the questions. “It does have beds, and food too. But it is nowhere yet.” Torma: “Well, Alchemists Fire is like a flask of oil without needing to add a fuse, and costs 20 gold a flask. Tanglefoot is like glue. It makes everything harder to do, and might even pin the target to the floor. It costs 50 gold a bag. Thunderstones deafen anything near where it hits when you throw it, and are 30 gold.” Berz: You swing at the smiling red demon. [because he is not trying to avoid it, no attack roll needed.] The usual feedback damage happens, and Brax says, “Oh, it is a VICIOUS weapon! Well, there is nothing I can do to stop the damage, but I might be able to help lessen the effects, and make the axe stronger besides. Interested?” Rantic: “Like all staves, it is basically an upgraded wand with a selection of spells. This one has 100 charges, and can cast Cause fear, Ghoul touch, Halt undead, Enervation, Waves of fatigue, and Circle of death at different charge costs. I can let you have it for 15000 gold."
