Here is the current situation as of the darkness: The elephant is still there. You could hear the sounds on a derro pulling free of the tentacles, but as it is between rounds most sounds will have to wait till the next round. If you have other actions that you can think of, we will retcon the first round, but keep in mind that you can only move safely at half speed in darkness. If you do attempt to move at normal speed, there is a cumulative chance of tripping each five feet you move.
(whenever my turn rolls around again.) "Goddamn. How many lights does it take to put out the dark?" Berz closes his eyes and thinks about the old man in his dream. "What would Badgers do?" he thinks. His nose twitches. "Right," he continues out loud, "Hey Avatar, I dunno if you can hear me, but I wish you'd show me you're serious -- say, by giving me a really keen nose. That's what badgers would do, after all. And maybe some of that talent for digging, too?" Berz gazes blindly into the darkness and waits.
Torma turns into a bat, because bats dont give a shit about darkness, magical or not, they fucking ultrasound their way out of anything. If he can find his way, he flies full speed towards the derro (number2) in the far south east corner. As he comes out of the darkness he should however turn back into a green-feathered-humanothingy and land in front of the derro just in time to withdraw his weapons and slash the heck out of him. Moving quickly along the corridor wall Rantic pushes Danton in front of him, or, if he doesn't want to budge, he slips past him. Idea is to go to the other door.
Danton attempts to push his way through the door and prepares to smack anything he believes is an enemy if it gets close.
Everyone backs up, with Rantic the only one to actually exit the darkness. Torma does a great Dracula impression, but when he exits the darkness, the other two derro are nowhere to be seen. A quick look reveals they are not in the hallways leading off this room. He comes back in the room as the darkness fades, a moment later.
Berz immediately starts sniffing around hopefully. If he catches anything that smells like Derro, he starts to track.
You do smell Derro, but it fades at the doors. You guys are not in combat anymore, so you can go ahead and act as normal. Also, the tentacles fade.
" What ? Where... Damn, they keep doing that ! " Torma starts searching for a hidden teleportation glyph. ( +6 ) Is the cute little elephant still here ? I saw he moved north to pout in the corner.
" Hey buddy... Hey c'm here. You like dried mushrooms ? Do you like charging and trampling diggles and derros too ?" Torma cautiously approaches the animal with some delicious dried mushrooms in his hands. ( handle animal +0 ... )
Berz turns toward the elephant. "Those things are natural creatures, right?" Berz walks calmly up to the beast and holds up his hand. "Who loves the future Nature God? Who does? You do, don't you? Don't you?" Wild Empathy (+3 effective Diplomacy)!
Rantic looks and searches around the room and the bodies. Also, he casually remarks "We could kill the elephant to raise it as a skeleton, could come in handy sometime."
