"Aight, this sounds safe enough. What'cha got, shorty? Oooh, a button!" Berz backs into the entrance just in case something explodes when the button is pushed. "Go for it!"
Swig never could back down from a dare. Standing in the center of the mini-pillar circle, he mashed his thumb into the button.
"Shlink, clank, griiiiiind, THUD!" You hear the sounds of machinery. A door that totally was not there before opens in the south side of the west wall!
"The secret door must be the best one! Unless anyone wants to look through the other doors and see what's inside, I say we go through there"
"Although... We could see first if the other doors are locked or not... would prefer that they are and we not get surrounded."
"Won't matter. Odds are, somethin' tryin' to find us'll have a key. B'sides, I got a little trick for that. Close the door behind us, I'll put an alarm on it."
"Could just as well hammer a spike into it, too. Keep it from opening. Trainer said that was an old gladiator trick to keep 'em from releasing more tigers. Never tried it, but it sounds smart."
While this is going on, Hort takes a peek into the newly opened secret hallway to see what's down there (Spot +3)
"OK, so then, we go through here and shut the door behind us? What's down here, anyway?" Berz looks through the secret door, sees the hallway, and nods. "Anything that goes behind the stairs we just came down seems creepy and weird enough to me. Shall we?"
Swig waits until everyone else has gone through the once-hidden door, then pulls it closed. Once it's secured, he quickly casts a spell, something involving a length of silver wire and a miniature bell. Once it's done, he tells the others, "Okay, this hallway's set. Anything comes through here without first saying, 'Gimme a beer', sets it off. Won't make a noise, except in my head." [Mental version of alarm, warding the first 40 feet of this hallway. It'll last for 12 hours.]
"Heh. Never demanded a beer from a door before. Sounds fun." Berz waits and gets back at the back of the line before proceeding.
