Dredmor Patch 1.0.10 RC9 Feedback Thread - I Believe in The Lever Fix

  1. I forgot the 60 Puffballs I have. Between lockpicks, puffballs, meats, cheeses, and anything under 18 Zorkmid in value, I only receive the finest artifacts from the Lutefisk God--for archaeological purposing, of course. Now, really, I must go trip the diggle fantastic.

    Essence Will Mod for Digglebucks

    It's :savvy:, not :magic_power:, that makes spells cheaper these days. So quite likely, your level in Psionics (which comes with 2 points of :savvy:) drove both spells over the 'gets cheaper per X :savvy:' line. :)

    Hm.

    I'd still like a slight increase, though. I find much, much more mana-related stuff than I do health-related.

    It's probably those Muscle Diggles using it as a tanning cream or something.
     
  9. The last thing I ran into on level one was an Eely. Shot it from a distance and didn't run through the cloud, obviously. It dropped eleven mushrooms. Oh yeah.

    Final level one total: 33 Plumbers, 18 Azures, 19 Fells, 24 Grunges, 19 Greedys, 23 Fairywodgers, 25 Inkys, 17 Princes, 29 Lobstermane, 42 Night Caps, 20 Mud Wens, and 78 Puffballs, plus 9 used, for a total of 347.

    It's pretty obvious this may not ever level out--you could even say (wait for it.....) it's mushrooming. Comedy Central, call me. So, for kicks I am going to play this out for five or six levels and see if I can get 50+ mushrooms per kill going. Man, I can't wait for a monster zoo.

    Strangely, I haven't crashed, which probably means in one minute when I try to save so I can go mow the lawn, I will trash my Mushroom Kingdom. I even have Mario and Luigi coming to me exclusively now, acting like fools, doing "Samson Simpson" commercials for me. But, alas, dbaumgart's gotta go all Nancy Reagan all up in my business.

    just had a crash with RC4 while doing nothing, that's new I suppose oO
    I seriously was simply idling while getting food irl and came back to a crash message

    I literally just went down to have lunch before updating to RC4 and when I came back there was an RC5

    This was likely the auto-save code crashing your game. It's not programmed to realize that you haven't even taken one turn in the last 5 minutes, so it simply keeps on auto-saving, every five minutes. One of those times it crashed your game.

  17. Savegame issue, additions.

    Ok.. your aware that the save/quit & save/continue saves to the autosave file.

    The autosave (timer) seems to work fine, but It autosaved while I idled thinking about how to take out a herd of potatoEs on Dl1 with a lvl 2 character. No way to do it, but the autosave kicked in... Grrr... Game ruined. No way to recover. :/

    I know I know.. it is Karma for the bit picture above... ;)

    Karma is funny like that.
    Nice to see these changes.
    I'll go run the patch tonight, to see if it horribly goes insane and eats my future children. :)
    Dredmor being made stronger makes me sorely tempted to post the "Not sure if serious or trolling,' Pic. :)

    Because last time I fought him I died 3 times before he died to arrow spam. He's pretty much unkillable in direct melee. That's strong enough.

    Still, looking forward to playing through and letting you know if it bugs out/summons Cyberdemons/insults my parentage/etc.
    Hopefully it will go well.

    Also, 4shared is not a bad site, don't know why some people are saying it is, they need to invest in Ad-block and No-script I guess. Never had any problems with it. YMMV.

    I think it was done because - if you keep your distance - Dredmor on Floor 15 is pretty "meh" as far as power goes. His spells weren't doing much to me, and he still had the issue of only firing off spells most of the time (the other turns were spent walking towards me instead of just teleporting into my face).

    Basically, if you had good gear and made at least some effort to build up a handful of resists, Dredmor on Floor 15 was pretty easy - because you had leveled up and gained better gear (and Skills) from Floors 11-15... but he was the same old Floor 10 Dredmor you'd been fighting with lesser gear pre-expansion.

    From that standpoint, buffing the Floor 15, RotDG-only version Dredmor makes a lot of sense.

    Except that's the one I fought, and died to 3 times before I could finally kill him. On Elvish Easy. So, if he wasn't buffed before now, I question how I died 3 times. I really suck at this game. :(
    He died by arrow spam thankfully.

    I don't know. I just like the game a lot, and want to someday beat it again. :)

    Regardless, I will test the Release candidate, and see if any weird things pop up.
    I would like Melee to be buffed, After all other major bugs are fixed, anyway. I'm just saying...
    Once that happens, I won't complain, and Daynab won't have any urges to kill when he sees my post. :)
    Also, I'm really bad at getting my point across. Sorry to everyone.

    Okay, first level, got a artifact with wandlore on it. I think it might need to be addressed. The fact that wandlore/wandcrafting can spawn on items and it has no effect. A screenshot can be given if needed. It's rather nice too.
