I wish you had said that before I started the next turn...
I *Think* I remember the exact stair. I am backing up my cleared DL3 save now before I go up and fetch the stuff to leave by a stair going down from DL3.

To whomever plays the save, please take note that when you throw stuff, you get random effects too. Do Not Panic when you suddenly see a big pink golem nearby. Look for the hearts over it that indicate it is friendly. Those sometimes spawn when you throw stuff now that Ninjitsu is finished. Time to finish one more Rogue skill before we start moving towards playable magery.(One skill remains in Throwing, then we have our choice of what to level. I suggest Golemancy since we never want to be hit, and the golems usefulness fades in another few levels anyway. They are disposable unmeat shields.

Summon them where you want the enemy to focus it's efforts, and snipe away with glee!

A few things I should say just to ensure you know. Any steak type besides "Grilled Steak" can be dropped on any BBQ you see to convert them into that one. This will save inventory space and trouble.

I noticed a huge amount of items on level two. Fine with me, as money is all but worthless. Check out floor three if you want. I even mopped it clean!(er than it was)

I tried the stairs and found that the easier enemies on lower levels allow great abuse of Dire Gourmand and Ninjitsu. Later, when things get tough, that will be invaluable though. I spent some time grinding and gained a few more levels. We are set for DL4 now. The stairs make no sense as far as I can tell though. (I still have not been to level four, so you can generate the level yourself.)

    ****NOTE****
Do not begin here. I cheated. Taking another turn for no real reason. (I was bored.)
Play as you like. If you play through DL4 and find your ending of the floor less than satisfactory, use mine.

I have no problem with using your save if it turns out good. But I did get a very nice weapon and the next cookbook... Your call.

I suggest a vanilla game with 1.0.10 RC5. Then the saves would be much easier to diagnose. I will make a thread about it. And I am sincerely sorry to Nicholas for the bother. I know the saves issues are agony for you. But take heart that your undying throngs will adore you all the more for your efforts!

    I suggest the following:
    1. Make a basic tank type character that may well survive a few turns at any DL.
    2. Save then and there.
    3. Play until you get to the upper right stairwell down and use it.
    4. Keep following this pattern and see if it holds true on the reverse for you before submitting your saves.
    5. Try other peoples saves and see if the stairs put you where they should. If not, report exactly what stair they crap you out at.

(Debug mode would be helpful since you can make your character level up fast that way and thus survive the descent. Also a capital L shows the whole map. This will make it much easier to navigate and figure out exactly where you are. Anyone need the debug info? Add -debug-flag to your DoD shortcut in the Windows version. Use the keybindings menu to see what buttons do what. Simple enough?)

This character will not be a play character. It will be purely so others can report their stair responses.

Again, no mods so the Devs have less sheer agony to deal with if somehow a mod effects this.

I will make a thread now for this. Those reading this and wanting to comment should direct their reply to this thread:

I'm holding off on taking another turn until someone else decides to take up the torch. Share alike and what have you.

I would wager that several have already downloaded and played the saves. They simply chose not to say anything.

Please let us know if you like the idea and want to take a turn. I can wait 24 hours for your turn. (Despite evidence to the contrary above.)

(On a completely unrelated note, if there was an item that held unlimited charges, but had a cooldown and cast the Digging Ray from Golemancy, I would have made this build a Promethean fire flinger. The dragon summon is awesome. And the Runes are great ways to wipe an early zoo.)

If I had this build to do over, I would take Promethean instead of Golemancy, and Wind Magic (Via a mod) instead of Mathemagics. Wind magics has two good teleports. They each have some issues, but they work. And the "Gust" spell works wonders for keeping things off you.

  6. Wind magic is hella fun. I sorta feel like joining you guys, but non-PD takes the fun out of it for me. If I can just wander through the dungeon and reload every time I mess up, there's no incentive for me to play well, and no risk.

Aside from that, I like what you guys are doing here. Mathemagic and Wind Magic are both extremely fun, often-underutilized skillsets passed over in favor of simple high-power stuff.

PD has to be avoided for a save exchange. Otherwise one wrong move messes things up for everyone.

We can institute a PD per person policy, but that requires us to be honest and to trust one-another.

Whenever one of us dies, we abstain from playing until we start a new character. (We could even have more than one character at a time if we want.)

Half the reason for PF being off is to allow new mod users to adapt to the new mods and skills.

Mathemagics Recursive Curse is awesome. It is capable of striking around corners and obstacles. It is a DoT and pretty heavy damage too. And I think even the DoT side is stackable.

Radiant + Mathemagics is good since you simply require teleports to avoid melee.

Radiant + Wind is better because it offers the Gust spell as I described above and does small damage when you teleport. (Slight increase in cost to offset the additional damage though.)

If you want to try a run, let me know what run you want. Or just start one!

Ouch. It seems I mostly abandoned this idea. Mayhaps I will start it up again with a new character and some more mods. ID is so nice. I wish I had included it with this character. But for whatever reason, I thought it was unstable at the time.

I think for Radiant Wizardry builds, Wind Magic is essential. You simply must have a way to push foes back out of melee range.

Anyone have any ideas for an April 2012 Multiplayer build? (We may have 1.0.10 RC6 by then.)

As it is I am still thinking of focusing on RW and WM as primary skills. What else is needed? Promethean Magic could be a nice addition. I think Blood Magic is out, since the Radiant Wizardry would make it impossible to melee for mana when you get low. Thus you die badly. How about another mod?

*Edit* And it will have to be PD since Rarefied Horse Meat prefers it that way.
