Celtic Woman is pretty great, I've always enjoyed them.

I swear I did not close my mouth once during that whole video.

Yeah. That video from Daynab is funny. And Weird Al is always good. Neither of them is what I call music, but more a joke using music. Good enough either way. :)

Bit late on the draw but listenable music does occasionally make it onto the pop charts. I'm rather fond of Gotye, though I definitely find Someone That I Used to Know to be one of his least impressive songs.

Maybe it's the one that gets played because the music video has the least terrifying visuals of his work?

  6. My turn!

These guys are so hyper & aggressive that they have probably drank a lot of hydrogenated maple syrup.

Also they are a pretty unknown band I guess and they have a super mario theme cover :)

Just an aside: "Meshuggah" is yiddish for crazy (sorry, I could not get past the start of the vocals before I had to stop it, but that was what popped out at me. Another variant is Meshugenah, which means just about the same thing.

  8. I know I also heard an another variant: meshugganah
What's the problem with the vocals?

Not everyone likes growling. I have the same problem with them, can't stand the vocals. I prefer metal vocalists that actually sing.

Okay, back to some non-silly stuff:

Love. This. Album. There's only two tracks with vocals. This is the other, and I apologise for the video but the only YT uploads seem to be it set to game videos:

I keep falling into your world
    Can't hold on, losing control

Can't let go, until you fill(?) my soul

  11. I prefer music I like :D
I don't know if I simply don't prefer clean vocals or I'm just drawn to types of music which go better with growls.

For example that Evergrey song was interesting but the other two didn't really catch my attention.

Maybe this is more to your liking then?
Same singer as the first song in the previous lineup, heavier riffs.

    Toss in some animal noises...

And of course Blackie Lawless is still going strong.

  13. No not really :p

My current top album with clean vocals is Enslaved's RIITIIR though it also has plenty of (evil gnome/human sounding :D) growls.

Yeah the whole video is about nature no one will pop in to scare you...
    I heard Norwegians like nature.

    @Althea
LOL at the Goblin Cock band just forming it was totally worth it. Plus it takes some balls to play in a band like that.

Thing is, they're actually led by an indie musician, Rob Crow. It's one of his side projects. Just funny to see them signed to Absolutely Kosher (or they were) alongside some really, really mellow stuff like Joan of Arc.

Anyway, this seems a slightly crappy upload (I swear it keeps skipping) but it's genuinely the only one there is:

I really liked that one, Althea!
Anyway, too much metal, take some hipster music!

And some electro swing, which is probably hipster music as well...
You heard it here first ;)

That's really not all that eclectic. The middle song is just a Rap/R&R hybrid. The first and last songs are really from the second British invasion (or at least from that new wavish brit invasion era). I haven't heard that particular version of "Come On Eileen" before, but I kinda like it (still prefer this version slightly better, but maybe because it's the first one I heard):

So if you are eclectic, what does that make me?

As Billy Joel once said, "It's all Rock and Roll to me".

Yeah, your Eileen is the original. Mine's a cover, but a better one -- the original is way too pervy what with a guy singing it.

And you don't want to get into an eclectic-off with me. I'll go all OmniNegro on your ass. :D

(All these songs are actually currently on my playlist. At the same time. :p As are all of the songs I've posted earlier in the thread.)
