Apparently, there's a small demand for a thread where us hardcore modders can claim "ID space" for their once and future mods. I, for example, started at 601 with QiGong and have proceeded through 606 with Warlockery. I'm "laying claim" to Skill IDs 601-625, because I have big plans. Anyone who wants to "lay claim" to skill ID numbers, reply to this thread and I'll upkeep the OP with people's various claims. SKILL ID CLAIMS: (1-50: Core Game) 78-87: Rareified Horse Meat 111: 1eleven 150-169: Sir Sneaky 170-175: Ruigi 180-190: RaustBlackDragon 200-225: FaxCelestis 250-260: Ryvian 310-330: r_b_bergstrom 350-364: Dashem 420: Pokenoob (if this mod isn't in some way weed related, I'll be sad.) 500-510: sONoFhAPPYbUNNY 555-575: Blind Piper 590-595: SSvjatoy 601-625: Essence 751-760: Iccorp2 775-780: Kaja Rainbow 851-870: Kazeto 880-889: Zaratustra 3020-3050: Null 5000-5009: Kino5 6169-6185: jadkni
I have a quick question if you don't mind. If two skills have the same ID I get that they don't work, but is it trivial to make them work by changing it? By the way I'm going to update the Mod Index with all the skill IDs soon.
It should be pretty easy if you can edit the mod's code, but I still think this is a good idea to make sure that using multiple mods together doesn't become a nightmare to get working.
3020 - 3050 Wind is 3021 Geo is 3026 I'm likely never going to use the ones in between but they're still not yours.
I'll thus join the bandwagon, and say I want 851-870. Now if only I got some time for the finishing touches to actually upload my stuff (but that's irrelevant there)... As the game grows, the number of people who are totally incapable of both changing IDs and asking for help in a way that would allow us to help them will grow. Minecraft's modding sub-forum became a literal shit-hole because of that. And that means we don't want our mods to conflict over something as trivial as IDs if we have enough of them to actually reserve them in advance.
You guys know you can pick obscenely large numbers for your ids right? Just copy and paste from a random number generator and there's almost no chance of a conflict.
So? I do see your point, but most people don't start with the random number generator for things like that. And some of us had already uploaded their mods, meaning they might want to continue using subsequent IDs instead of jumping randomly for the sake of conflict eliminating.
