Using pocket dimension to "escape" a life and death situation

  1. I think if anything being able to use the pocket dimension this way makes it less essential to have certain skills in every single build, yeah.

    And really I do NOT like that certain skills are nearly always required. Seven skill slots can be pretty limiting already. >.<

    Ah, but those escape mechanics are resources that came as a result of a player decision. Being able to escape with teleportation or invisibility is meant to be a reward for making good skill choices or inventory management (or more generally predicting your needs before they became an issue). Surviving as a result feels good because if you didn't pick up invisibility or some other emergency skill or item, you would have died. That sort of trial and error is the lifeblood of roguelikes
